Flyleaf is an alternative-metal band from Temple, Texas. They have achieved much success in the music world, releasing
3 EP's and a LP that have sold marvolously. The band formed in the year 2000, when Lacey Mosley met James Culpepper, and started
playing music together. They eventually added on the two guitarists Sameer Bhattacharya and Jared Hartmann. The music the
band made was described by Lacey as "magical".
The band was originally known as Passerby, but changed their name after their first EP to Flyleaf. The EP "Passerby"
contains the songs "Breathe Today", "Red Sam" and "Cassie" (which the last two can be found on the album "Flyleaf"). Before
Flyleaf, Lacey lived in poverty until moving in with her wealthy grandparents, at that point becoming suicidal. Her grandmother
urged her to go to church, and she says that "my faith saved my life, and I'm not ashamed of it".
The bands first LP, "Flyleaf", has become their most popular album to date. The songs "I'm So Sick", "Fully Alive", "Perfect" and
"All Around Me" have become some of the most well known Flyleaf songs today.
