The Academy Is..., the alternative/pop-punk band out of Chicago, Illinois, is one of the biggest bands to
sweep the nation in years. With two LP's and two EP's under their belt, the band shows no signs of slowing up. The bands current
lineup consists of:
William Beckett- Vocals
Michael Carden- Lead Guitar/Vocals Adam T. Siska- Guitar Andy Mrotek-Bass Michael Guy Chislett-Drums
The Academy Is... was discovered by bassist Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy, when Pete told FOB's record label,
Fueled By Ramen, about a band he was convinced would be a success. People from FBR flew out to see the band play, and signed
them. Before being signed to FBR, the band released an EP entitled, "The Academy" (the Is... was added later), which had mild
success.
When signed to FBR, the band released 2 LP's, including "Almost Here", which included the singles "Classifieds"
and "The Phrase that Pays". Soon after, the band released their sophomore album, "Santi". The two singles from that album
are "Neighbors" and "Everything We Had". Another new LP is confirmed for 2008, entitled "Fast Times at Barrington High".
This band has extreme charisma and talent, which will carry them farther than anyone thought they could
go. This band will see some bright years in the future.
